A three-dimensional interpretation of Georges Seurat's painting, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. The piece was carved to varying depths into plastalina clay. Multiple plaster castings were made (bottom) and then one was painted (top) to match the inspiration piece. The unpainted plaster casting gives the viewer a different experience from the painted casting, as it allows the viewer to focus more on the depth and shadows created by the three-dimensional carving. 10in x 7in, Plaster, acrylic paint, plastalina clay, silicone, 2022
